Google recently announced the new Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL smartphones at their annual event on October 4, 2017 in San Francisco. With many internal and external changes, this new smartphone will be a strong competition to iPhone 8, iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S8 and Samsung Galaxy Note8.
This is the first phone launched with Google Lens, a smart camera that allows users to search the real world using image recognition. The Pixel 2 offers a brand new single camera, with portrait mode and live photo just like the iPhone’s gadget, Motion Photo.
Another new feature of Pixel 2 its the squeezable sides. A simple squeeze can trigger actions and initiate Google Assistant for real-time help. It has also got high definition stereo speakers and is water resistance. The battery life from just a 15 minutes charge is 7 hours. Pixel’s users also get free unlimited storage on Google Photos.
Google has also launched Pixel Buds, compatible wireless headphones that allow direct voice-to-voice translation in 40 languages. Even though it’s an innovative idea, customers were not pleased since it has no headphones jacks.
The smartphone can be pre-ordered in 6 countries, such as United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany and Puerto Rico. Pixel 2 comes in three different colors, light blue, black and white, and it costs $649. Pixel XL comes in black and black and white and it costs $849.
