The latest system update of the Nintendo Switch is out. The 4.0.0 update brought the ability to record 30-second video clips and share moments from your gameplay with friends. To create the short clips, just hold down the capture button while you play! It’s that simple. You can even edit the video and share on your Facebook page and Twitter feed.
The video capture feature can now be used in The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (version 1.3.0), Mario Kart 8 Deluxe (version 1.3.0), ARMS (version 3.1.0) and Splatoon (version 1.1.1). The new update from Nintendo also includes the ability to transfer user and save data to another Switch system. You can move profile data, including saves and eShop purchases, from one Switch profile to another. Both a source console and a target console are needed to transfer user information and save data, and they must be connected to the internet. A number of new profile icons featuring characters from Super Mario Odyssey and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild are other new additions giving users more customization options.
A pre-purchase option is now available for certain games on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch. This option also allows you to pre-load the digital version of a game to your device, so you can play right away when the game is released. If your Nintendo Switch is connected to the internet, the update will begin downloading automatically. You can also update manually from the System Settings menu if needed.
You can buy a Nintendo Switch directly through Nintendo’s website or through retail and online stores such as Amazon, Target, Toys R Us, Walmart, Best Buy and Gamestop for $299.99.
